Dear Reader,THE GUEST ROOM is a novel of suspense about a marriage in crisis, two remarkable women, and that one moment you wish more than anything you could take back. It's about as close as I've come to writing a Breaking Bad sort of thriller. (No blue meth, but a cataclysmic bachelor party, Russian gangsters, and a couple of Makharov pistols.)
In all seriousness, however, I hope that the novel also raises awareness of human trafficking and sexual slavery. The International Labor Organization estimates 4.5 million people are trapped in forced sexual exploitation around the world — a tragically and unforgivably large figure.
