Hillary Homzie
Dear Reader:
Middle school wasn't always easy for me. Take the moment in seventh grade when my best friend called me up and said, "We need to de-intensify our friendship."
Ouch.
That's why I wrote THE HOT LIST. I wanted to show girls that, although friendship drama can be overwhelming, ultimately, it's a positive growth experience.
And I wanted tweens to be able to laugh about all of this. I used to perform sketch comedy in New York, and making people smile is definitely what I love to do.
I'm thrilled that Booklist says that THE HOT LIST "captures the angst of young teen friendships and fragile identities."
And thanks for your positive response to my first book for tweens, THINGS ARE GONNA GET UGLY, Justice stores' Book of the Month.
