Dear Librarians,

Books, bicycles, and environmental and social justice are some of my passions in life. I was inspired to write THE RED BICYCLE by my own experiences: riding my beloved bicycle (it's green and I call it The Salsa Verde) everywhere and the time I spent as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Burkina Faso, where I witness how hard the women worked, walking everywhere carrying heavy loads on their heads.

I love to talk about bicycles and about the importance of safe and affordable transportation for everyone, no matter where they live and no matter their age or gender. A bicycle can make an enormous difference to a person, whether 8 years old or 80 years old. Bicycles are a short cut to happiness!
