LIFE WITH AN ACCENT is a true story of an immigrant's assimilation from a child's point of view.

It brings us inside the head of a clever young boy who was born in Berlin in 1933 then raised in the British Mandate of Palestine where he thrived. Just before his thirteenth birthday, his parents whisked him to America. His friends... left behind. His dog... never to be seen again. Imagine thinking in one language but having to speak in another.

The many themes explored include the importance of family, friendship between people who were once enemies, overcoming the death of a spouse, finding strength to start over, and accepting that as we move forward, the past matters.

And here's a bonus. Readers will learn about world history that affects all our lives. It might encourage young adults to become a better friend to someone who speaks with an accent.
