Dear Librarians,

30,000 STITCHES is the true story of the tattered American flag that flew over Ground Zero days after 9/11, later taking a historic journey across fifty states to be restored. Diverse communities came together to place stitches in the flag. Along the way, they shared their stories of unity, compassion, and healing. As the flag began to heal, the people did, too.

I write, teach, and create because I believe in the power of sharing our stories to better understand ourselves and the world around us. I hope this book inspires children to tell their own stories and recognize strength in togetherness.
