Ted Bell
Dear Librarian:
I wrote NICK OF TIME because I didn't think anyone was writing good, old-fashioned, swashbuckling adventures for young people anymorebooks with flesh-and-blood heroes like TREASURE ISLAND by Robert Louis Stevenson or the COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO. So I wrote a book like the kind I treasured as a kid, but in a more fun, modern style. Thanks for embracing it, coming along for the adventure, and making it a New York Times bestseller!
THE TIME PIRATE is the sequel to NICK OF TIME. In this new book, I wanted to not only pick up the story where the first left off but also introduce young readers to a hero closer to home: General George Washingtonheroic, courageous, steadfast and wise. To do this, I needed to bring Nick into the American Revolutionary War, fighting shoulder to shoulder with General Washington. I think readers will have as much fun reading how this comes about as I did writing it!
All best,
Ted Bell
