If you read my novel, Commune of Women, you know I write strong characters set into powerful stories. FIESTA OF SMOKE has three such characters—Calypso, an author; Javier, leader of insurgency; and newsman Hill. Separated twenty-five years, Calypso and Javier re-ignite love amid danger and intrigue, while Hill tracks Calypso's sudden disappearance, involving him in one of the great real-life dramas of the twentieth century.
