Dear Librarians,

As a recovered alcoholic, I wanted to play devil's advocate and try to show how Edgar Allan Poe may have been sober (and murdered) when he died in 1849 at Baltimore, Maryland. The result was FOREVERMORE, the first mystery in the popular Detective Pat O'Malley Historical and Steampunk Mystery Series. To my delight, this first mystery has garnered much praise. It was awarded the First Place Award in the Historical Mystery category in Chanticleer's Clue Mystery competition and it was a Finalist in the Best Digital Fiction Category of the Next Generation Book Awards. It was also selected by readers as the Book Club Choice at the international Noveltunity web site, and as a "book of the week" choice at Publishers Weekly's BookWorks.com.

My Pat O'Malley series fourth book, Steam City Pirates, was chosen by the Library Journal as a notable featured book in the new Self-E Program.

"This was a story that kept me enthralled throughout. It has it all — history, romance, mystery, action, and plenty of suspense. The characters and the plot are superb! I stand in awe of an author who can so skillfully blend historical truth with fiction and make it all believable. Kudos, Mr. Musgrave!" —Dianne Harmon, author
