The cover may scream 'romance,' but my story is primarily a mystery, one that explores the underbelly of environmental crime in the largest rainforest on earth. The book is based on the murder of environmentalist Chico Mendes, and was also inspired by my own experiences in the jungle: A beautiful but dangerous place where gun-toting ranchers threaten, airplane engines conk out mid-flight and Yanomami women peek under your t-shirt to see what you really look like!
