Dear Librarian, My relatives are "Plain Folks." I've always been fascinated by my cousins' deliberate choice to live apart from the demands of modern life. THE CHOICE is a book about a young woman, Carrie Weaver, facing a few left curves. Carrie's not a perfect Amish woman, and I'm not a perfect writer. In fact, Carrie's story was rejected and tweaked more times than I like to remember. But Carrie's story wanted to be told. So Carrie and I, we chose to hang in there. We persevered.
