Suzanne Woods Fisher
Dear Librarian,
My relatives are "Plain Folks." I've always been fascinated by my cousins' deliberate choice to live apart from the demands of modern life. They trust in God and try to make life count for what's truly important. From what I have observed, it all boils down to choices.
THE CHOICE is a book about a young woman, Carrie Weaver, facing a few left curves. Carrie's not a perfect Amish woman, and I'm not a perfect writer. In fact, Carrie's story was rejected and tweaked more times than I like to remember.
But Carrie's story wanted to be told. So Carrie and I, we chose to hang in there. We persevered. Like many of us, Carrie's life didn't turn out the way she expected. The choices she facedthey weren't easy ones. But without giving away the end of the story, let's just say life turned out to be more than she ever hoped for.
Warmly,
Suzanne
