Dear Librarian,
Fact is stranger than fiction, so the way to write a fascinating mystery is simply to begin with a handful of strange or little-known facts and ask the question, "What if?" These are some of the facts that lead to my latest novel, ENDS OF THE EARTH...
• The U.S. is the world's leading exporter of grain. But prior to the Russian Revolution, Russia was the world's leading exporter of grain.
• When the Soviet Union crumbled, entire industries were handed over to private citizens. Men became billionaires overnight. There are now more billionaires living in Moscow than there are in New York City.
• During the Cold War, the Soviet Union's Ministry of Agriculture developed diseases that are capable of wiping out entire crops. They learned to spread those diseases using insects.
What if a wealthy Russian landowner decided to make Russia the world's leading exporter of grain once again? What if he decided to accomplish this not just by increasing Russia's productivity, but by destroying America's crops at the same time? What if he decided to use an old Cold War weapon to destroy those crops... and insects to spread it?
In ENDS OF THE EARTH, forensic entomologist Nick Polchak must stop this man before he can cause a global environmental disaster. The Bug Man is backand I think you'll really like this one.
