Margaret Brownley
Dear Librarian,
This is Sarah, here, the heroine in Margaret's book, A LADY LIKE SARAH. I'm writing this letter 'cuz I wanted to tell you myself how excited I am at the prospect of bein' in your library.
To be perfectly honest, I ain't been in no library since I was twelve years old. Some ole sheriff wanted to put me in the hoosegow for stealin' an apple. I ducked into a small brick library in Kansas and hid behind the shelves. When I saw all those hi-falutin' names on the books, I figured libraries were for important folks, not for folks like me, so I never stepped foot in one again.
Margaret insists that plenty of other outlaws reside in the library, though I never saw one, personally. But if you let me be in yours, I promise to tell you how a red-hair outlaw like me met a handsome preacher like Justin Wells on the dusty road to Rocky Creek, Texas in 1879.
I don't want to brag or anythin' but it's quite a story. It's got lots of action and even has some of that kissin' stuff. I promise I won't make any trouble for you. I'll stand all nice and purty on your shelves and try my darnest to act like a lady.
If you want to know more about me or Margaret, gallop over to our homestead at www.margaretbrownley.com.
You take care now, you hear?
